This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook and I will be your cohost for the rest of the readathon! Did Hank miss any good jokes? Do you have a joke you would like to share? If so, post it below! I know I could always use a good laugh!

Random Fact of the Hour:

 The benefits of Laughter:

1. Laughing 100 times roughly equals 15 minutes on an exercise bike? So next time you don’t feel like going to the gym, laugh for a while.

2. Aside from improving our moods, laughter can reduce stress, help fight infection, and reduce pain.

3. Laughter causes positive changes in brain chemistry by releasing endorphins, and it brings more oxygen into the body with the deeper inhalations.

4. Laughter releases anger, fear, guilt, anxiety and tension.

  1. @Caro – glad you could get a laugh in. I don’t think I could tell 51 jokes in less than 4 minutes! I don’t think I even know 51 jokes!

  2. Update –

    Books Finished – 2
    Books Currently Reading – 2
    Hours Slept – 4 1/2

Yeah, laughing is great, however it’s much easier to laugh when you’ve got other people around! I’m definately going to be participating in this read a thon again next year, I just wish they were on during school holidays 🙂

  3. I would love to do this mini challenge, but by brain has been awake for well over 24 hours and I don’t want to kill it during the next two hours. Happy reading everyone!! I am stoked be doing this for the entire time!
