Hour 22 – Three Hours Left. Let’s React!

This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook and I will be your cohost for the rest of the readathon! How are you all holding on? Just three more hours of reading. YOU CAN DO IT!!! At this point, I am throwing caution to the wind and bringing out the big guns. That is right, I am breaking my own rules and having some caffeine. I have been good all day and only done like herbal tea and apple cider and fruits and veggies, but no more. It is crunch time, ya’ll! We can do this!!!

In this post, I would like to thank all of my fellow co-hosts for all of there amusing posts that have helped keep this event awesome. You have facilitated everything wonderfully! This event wouldn’t have been the same without you!

Video of the Hour:

Have any of you guys ever watched any of the “Kids React” videos? These kids are so cute! I love their opinions. It is just so honest. Trying to stay “book” related, this is the kids reacting to the movie trailer of The Hobbit. It isn’t their best, but they are still cute! And in this video, they sure make you feel old.

Random Fact of the Hour:

  •  The Bible is both the world’s best-selling book AND the most shoplifted book. I guess someone missed the commandment “Thou shalt not steal.”
  • John Milton used 8,000 different words in his poem, “Paradise Lost.”

  1. @Nadia – I love those kids! They are so cute. There are cuter ones of them, but this was the most book related one.

  2. @Angie – that is sad. I think those kids are hilarious. Now when it comes to teenagers… those guys creep me out.

  3. This is my first readathon since giving up coffee…I did it because I do homeopathy so I can’t even cheat or might ruin my remedy. I will not lie. It has been rough not having that option so I understand both the desire to cave on the caffeine decision and the trying to abstain in the first place for health reasons. Way to go on making it so long though-we should get an extra ribbon right? I caved and hit up the cherry coke awhile back but still no coffee! Thanks for hosting the late late night hours. This is my first time ever having daylight hosting hours- it felt a bit odd. I did 4 or 5 hours the very first time during this time frame and it landed me in the eye doctor’s office the next morning not able to open one eye. I had poked a perfectly round hole in my cornea (neither he or I could figure that one out) and had severe eye strain…so make sure to take eye breaks sweetie! You’re doing great!

  4. @Deb – No shame in a nap. Glad you are back for the end though! This is still a victory for you. Any reading is good reading!

  5. @Courtney – wow, that sounds drastic! Your hours were great! Thanks for doing them. I am Mormon so I was forced to give up coffee. I am currently sipping on a Mt. Dew Code Red. hahaha.
