Hour 21 – Beginning of the End

Welcome to Hour 21!!! This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook. If you’re reading this, you have made it to the final sprint! Come on, you can do it! Only 4 more hours. Really, that isn’t that long!

I would like to take a moment to thank the cheerleaders. You guys always amaze me. You selflessly take time to cheer on us readers and sometimes, when tiredness is creeping in and you just want to sleep, your encouraging cheer helps to keep me going. Thank you for taking on such a monumental task. With so many readers participating, I am sure it seemed daunting. But you all rose to the occasion and you rock!

Random Facts of the Hour

Anyone who has ever made these late night hours knows that I love to include random facts of the hour. Its just what I do. Sort of like a tradition I have with you, the participants. So here are a couple random facts for this hour:

  1. I turned off the lights because I heard a noise and now I don’t wanna turn them back on again! I haven’t even taken a nap in the past 21 hours because I know if I do, I won’t be able to wake up again! I’m fine though! I just finished about 150 pages of this crazy big book I’ve been reading, so I’m feeling fine. I might take a small break though 😛

  2. I keep an ice pick by my bed for those times I hear noises and need to investigate things like a big girl. hahaha

  3. Even if you don’t make it, Stacy, your progress is nothing to be ashamed of. You did something amazing, just by participating at all. That is my philosophy every year.

  4. Thank you for hosting at the end of the RAT. It’s the worst stretch, after so many hours of reading. I did sleep, so I’m ready to read some more 🙂

I always love the bits of info you give about books. They are pretty interesting!

  5. Awwww – I am so glad someone else enjoys them besides me. hahaha

I come from a family of nightowls, so in some ways, I was designed for this shift. It can be a bit hard, though, after staying awake so many hours. I took a 2 hour nap earlier today, though.

  6. Emma – I completely understand. I don’t actually think I got through a full book today. I finished two books I had previously started and then the third won’t be finished by the end. Oh well, some reading is always better than no reading.
