Hour 21 – In Which a Crazy Person Takes Over!!!

I hope you enjoyed the video. I know that it absolutely brought me to tears the first time I saw it. Anyway, this is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook and I will be your cohost for the rest of the readathon! Are you excited??? I know I am! Let me introduce myself to you really quick. I am a rather odd mix of hobbies. I love German Soccer (specifically Bayern Munich) with a passion and will often force myself out of bed at 6:30 on a Saturday morning to watch their games. I am a cross stitching addict and currently have over 50 patterns started. I love tv and watch way too much of it (curse you Hulu). I have two part time jobs (math tutor and a subpoena records copier). I am also a cheese addict. I love cheese. Right now I am eating Brie and Danish Fontina. I also have Gouda and Babybel in the fridge calling to me (as well as the normal cheddar and string cheese and mozerella cheese). During readathons, I allow myself to splurge and buy some of the more expensive cheeses as a treat. Now that you know a little bit more about me, I would love to know a little more about you! So please leave a comment and tell me some of your quirks and what makes you unique.

A big shout out to our cheerleaders!!! You guys have been fantastic! Next time we should have cheerleaders for our cheerleaders! But in all seriousness, thanks so much for cheering all of us readers on and cohosts on. You give us the strength to push past the weariness and keep reading! Goodness knows how much a “new comment” notice brightens up a persons day.

Random Fact of the Hour:

Who’s the bestselling commercial fiction author of all time? Not Meyer. Not Rowling. Not even King. No, the bestselling author of all time is Agatha Christie. Since 1920 her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language, and another billion in more than 45 other languages. She is outsold only by the Bible and William Shakespeare.

  1. I figure I still feel awake, so I’m still reading. When I can’t keep my eyes open, I can sleep! 😀

One quirk… I love cheese and black olives. Yum!

  2. Hi Kate! Love the random fact! I am actually eating some organic raw extra sharp cheddar right this moment. Hmmm…a little bit about me. I’m a librarian turned stay at home Mommy to the sweetest four year old ever. I love books, kids and Jane Austen (all three evidenced during my time co-hosting earlier). I also love black and white polka dots, period dramas, bubble baths and pajamas. Have a great time hosting…it’s been a fantastic readathon!

  3. Hmmm, a quirk…?? *tries to pick one* I wear men’s cologne instead of women’s perfume because I prefer the woody, spicy scents. My family call me ‘The Muffin Queen’ because I eat one for breakfast EVERY MORNING, and sometimes even the supermarket delivery man jokes about it. 😀

I’ll watch that video later, when I haven’t just put my mascara on for the day!

  4. Good call on the video! And Muffin Queen. That is amazing. When I was in boarding school in High School I got the nickname “Princess Peanut Butter” because I put peanut butter on everything! Pancakes, waffles, apples, carrots, celery, cookies, etc. Anything you can think to put it on (and some you can) I tried it. Even crackers and peanut butter and cheese. YUMMY!

  5. @Felicia – You can do it!!!! Try doing some jumping jacks or something to give you an energy boost.

  6. @Courtney – Sounds like you and I would get along well. I love all three of those things as well. And I love period pieces. Sometimes I have period piece movie marathons.

  7. @Kristen – I have to admit that I am not a big fan of olives. But I do love cheese (if that wasn’t obvious above :-D)
