Hour 16

Hey guys!ย Are you feeling the burn? ARE YOU? Your eyes from not blinking? Your throat from reading aloud? Your ears from listening?

You can totally make it to Hour 24. I believe in you guys. Something that helps me focus and get a little energy back when I start to get tired is a fun non-lyrical music mix. I use a lot of these for my workouts and honestly when I’m writing for my class or trying to read someone’s story for class. Click here to listen to my favorite i’m-so-tired-but-i-have-to-stay-awake-and-focused Pandora station. You might be surprised!

Head over to The Brain Lair and YA Enthusiast this hour to cheer them on and leave a comment to be entered to win a prize!

(And hint: ย You may want to update your status posts… I’ll be on the prowl for a random reader still reading soon!)

Mini-Challenges

This hour we have Poetry Angst! from Shel and Monica at The Hungry Readers. You get to write a poem about your reading experience. Fun, right?

  1. I wish I could have music playing while I read, but unfortunately, I find it totally distracting. I can ignore talking, but not music. Weird, huh?

  2. Still going! This has been a fantastic first read-a-thon, and I’m impressed that my 15 year old not only got up at 5am to start with me but is still reading all these hours later. This has been a great day!

  3. Hmm… you’re right, that music does provide some nice energy. I wonder if I can study to this… might have to try that out next week ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I love Pandora and have been using it between reading stints to give my brain a bit of a break. I can’t listen while I read – I am not much of a reading multitasker I am afraid!

Thanks for linking to your fav station!

  5. Unfortunately, when I’m tired, I can’t read with anything else going on or I end up reading the same line over and over until I nod off. I might get up and dance around a bit, though!

  6. Still up and reading here! Oh my, I’m not sure if I should go the caffeine route or not at this point. Should I…shouldn’t I? It’s 10:30 PM here. Gotta keep goin’. This is my first readathon and I want to stay awake. Used to be a piece of cake for me to stay up all night. But now I’m old. lol And maybe a little crazy. Or just tired. I don’t know anymore! Ha ha. I think I have readathon psychosis.

  7. I’m still hanging in there. Over halfway done with my fourth book and I really want to get to my fifth book.

  8. My eyes are feeling the burn. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, I sent an e-mail announcing the winners of my mini=challenge. This is my first read-a-thon and I am enjoying it thoroughly.
