Hour 15

This hour we would like to take a moment to remember Dewey, the much-missed founder of the read-a-thon, who passed away last November. Please visit Eva at A Striped Armchair for a mini-challenge in Dewey’s honour. Even if you never had the chance to meet her, we encourage you to take a moment to read about the lovely person who inspired us all to be here today.

We’ll randomly draw a winner, who’ll get a grab bag of 3 new surprise 2010 ARCs.

Still happening:
Trisha’s Mini-Challenge (last hour)
Soleil’s Mini-Challenge
Jill’s Mini-Challenge

  1. I’m new to the read a thon, so I didn’t have the chance to get to know Dewey, but would like to thank everyone for keeping this alive, as I am having a blast, and Thank you to Dewey for starting it.

Hope everyone is sticking it through!

  2. Hi!
I didn’t know Dewey personally, just through visiting book blogs. I did some Weekly Geeks, but not not on a weekly basis. It was kind of hit and miss. I loved reading her reviews of books. They were very informative and honest. Keep up the great work of the Read-A-Thon. It’s a wonderful thing to do. Have a great evening.

  3. I never knew dewey but I have seen some memory post around about her. She must have been really cool. Glad she started this cool readathon!

  4. I didn’t know her either but she sounds wonderful. I made up a little mini tribute to her on my blog you can participate if you get bored in between posts (win an arc)! LOL

    Always Remember Dewey!

  6. Can someone tell me how to post a link from my blogpage. I’m new to the blogging thing and am missing out on some of the mini-challenges because I don’t know how to post a link.

  7. Shellie, if you click with the right button of your mouse over the title of your post and selected “copy link location”, you’ll then be able to selected “paste” wherever you want your link to appear. I hope this helps!

  8. I’m also knew to the read-a-thon, but this is a wonderful way to remember Dewey. There are so many people involved and this is just awesome!!!!

  9. I’m new also to the read a thon. I’m sorry I did not get to know Dewey, but what an amazing person she is for putting this big event together and bringing all of us together and for you all to carry it out for in her memory. Thank you Dewey and to everyone here. Much appreciated!

  10. Sara, we randomly selected 5 readers and ask everyone who stops by to go visit them and cheer them on during that hour. We then pick those names from among those who commented on their last update, and they get a prize.

To everyone else, thank you so much for the kind words.
