Here are a couple more Secret Ways to Stay Awake When You Are Very, Very Tired:
Tickle the Top of Your Mouth Cavity. Rub your tongue against the top front area of your mouth. It may feel strange, but it will give you a quick, annoying nerve jolt that can genuinely help to keep you awake.
Chew Ice. If you chew ice, it’s impossible to fall asleep.
Chew Anything. Chewing anything makes your body think it is about to eat. To prepare, your body will release insulin which will make you more alert.
Smell Something. Rosemary is good. Peppermint. Coffee. Smelling something strong will stimulate your nervous system and reduce tiredness.
