April 2015, readathon

Hour 12 – Mid-Event Survey with Meow

Hey bookish friends. Courtney from the currently on hold Stiletto Storytime back with you for one last hour. Look at you!! You have almost made it through 12 hours of readathon so far. Did you nap? It’s okay if you did. I won’t tell. Now you only need to make it through 12 more hours and you will have survived the entire readathon of April 2015.  In the meantime make sure to do the mid-event survey below  and link up for this hour’s mini-challenge.

Happy reading to all and have a fabulous rest of your readathon. I’ll see you around. I will be out and about on Twitter @stiletostrytime.  I will leave you with some cat and book related humor as I depart. Since I’m a librarian it’s usually to be expected that I love cats. Don’t tell anyone but I am actually a dog person and in absolutely no danger of ever becoming a crazy cat lady.

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now?
2. How many books have you read so far?
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

I don’t plan ahead… First looking for a new when I’m done with the one I am currently reading

    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Got a 5,5 year old at home, so there is some interuptions during the day, even with a playdate. There is food to be made, questions to be answered, putting and such on. Twice a year it is allowed to rely on the TV in the evening (and she got a playdate again in the morning, as the event is not over before 2pm). Also why I read “easier” books, and not the harder ones requiring that much attention.

    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How much time I end up using social media;o It always suprises me!

    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?

    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
    – A few. One of my friends came over around lunch time. I just kept reading, and when I finished with what I was reading, I went to get lunch with him. Haha. Other than that, it’s mostly just been me getting distracted by Twitter and Goodreads, and the internet in general.

4: My parents have been terrible!! What I do is just tell them I’m reading so they leave me alone quickly. That or I blast out Justin Bieber until they leave (I don’t like Justin Bieber either but it’s a good way to clear out people from the room).

I’ve not been reading as quickly as I expected to, which is a shame, though I’m thankfully still enjoying the books that I’m reading. The biggest surprise, though, is probably how much I liked Peter Pan in Scarlet – definitely a happy surprise! 😀

  21. I have finished 2 books so far. I am currently finishing Your Blues Ain’t Mines by Bebe Moore Campbell. I have only stopped to eat, talk to my kids & a few phone calls.
