    The one I’m reading right now.

    Yes! Tons this read-a-thin! It seems everyone one wants to talk to me today. I talk to them for a bit then politely tell them I have a read-a-thon to get back to.

    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

    How many people aren’t signed up for it, but are reading along with significant others and family members. I think it’s great!

    40 pages away from the end of my first one

    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
    Yes, quite a few. I have 2 test I gotta study for plus we had guests over for dinner but I just try to read every spare second.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    How much I’m reading considering the fact that I don’t have time and that I haven’t read this much since forever ago.

    – Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld
    2. How many books have you read so far?
    – 1.5
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
    – Finishing my current read as well as finishing off one I started before, and another short one, and another normal one (and possibly some novellas).
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
    – I took a 2hr break earlier, as there was no way I could stay up for 24hrs with only 2.5hrs sleep the night before (due to working late), so I had some time with my bf before he went to work, and then I took a nap. Apart from that all good.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    – I actually thought I’d spend more time away from the computer, but I realised I couldn’t do that because then I’d miss the challenges, so I’m just reading at my desk and occassionally refreshing.

    2. Read so far: 1 and almost done this one!
    3. Book I’m looking forward to: I’m debating between reading another Lippman novel or something else. Decisions, decisions.
    4. Interruptions? I started late because I had a midterm so I only began reading at around 11am. Stopped for lunch. Every hour I do a check in to do challenges, post on social media. Stopped for dinner. That’s about it!
    5. What has surprised me most? How I feel like I did when I first did this years ago. It makes me so happy. I read less nowadays because I’m busy and have trouble relaxing but this even reminds me how much I love to sit down with a good book. I already can’t wait for the next event!

    Paper Girls and Rat Queens! I always switch to graphic novels around bedtime because it’s easier on my eyes.
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
    I took a break to make and eat dinner, but now I’m back and ready for more!
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    I can’t think of any surprises as of right now – it’s always awesome!

    2. How many books have you read so far? 5 completed and I am working my 6th book
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I a currently reading it
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? Not many till my family came home. About to sleep now for a few hours so that will slow my reading up quite a bit.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How fast I was able to read when my family was away. In past readathons I had tons of interruptions from family that I gave up. It is also easier to read when you start in the afternoon since I am currently in Europe.

    2. How many books have you read so far? I’ve only finished 1 so far. Plus 3 short stories 😊
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Really want to pick up Little Fires Everywhere but we’ll see.
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? A few. I picked up a book that wasn’t really right for the ‘thon. My cute puppy got hella hyper. It’s good to take small breaks tho
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? Surprises me? Probably the creative mini challenges. Love ’em!

    – im stil on my first One

    – im not sure what to read next. But im looking forward to Reading the rest off king’s cage

    – Yeah i have had A couple, i did nothing special. One of the interruptions i had, was A phone Call with my brother.

    – How Many we are, and How special it feels to be A part of this.

  12. 1. What are you reading right now? I’m listening to the audiobook for The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, which I would like to finish for tomorrow’s The Girly Book Club meeting, but there’s no change since I’m, like, 250 pages away from the end. HELP

    2. How many books have you read so far? I completed ZERO books. No shame, no shame.

    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I would love to finish I’ll Tell You in Person by Chloe Caldwell (non-fiction). I have very few pages left, so I shall do it.

    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? I’ve had ALL the interruptions. I’ve dealt with those as quickly as possible, getting that thing done (i.e. laundry, preparing lunch, etc.) and got straight back to reading.

    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? The sheer number of people joining in. I remember participating in the readathon maybe 3 years ago and I feel like now the people are 10x or something similar, which is amazing and I’m really proud of the readathon community.

    I’m trying to stay chill about my interruptions. My mantra: Enjoy the book. Enjoy the experience.

    I’m feeling more tired than I though I would at this time on night.

    5 – the minichallenge were really fun! There were some who were the same of the last years, but most were new 😀

    I’m in the middle of If the Buddha Married, My Favorite Thing is Monsters, You, Flying Witch volume 4, and Shadow Kiss. But I’m probably going to start something else next.
    2. How many books have you read so far?
    I completed 1 novel and 3 manga, and made dents in the rest.
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
    Maybe I’ll read Yona of the Dawn volume 2 or Hiyokoi volume 5.
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
    I really haven’t. My parents and partner have been extremely supportive. Only my own mood gets in my way, and the fact that I’m not excited about all of my TBR.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    My emotional response is different than usual, but that’s very personal and specific, haha.

  17. 1. I’m going to finish up a book of poetry this hour: Splitting an Order by Ted Kooser. Also in the middle of Little Fires Everywhere and listening to Be Frank with Me on audio.

    3. I’m looking forward to The Sea of Tranquility which I’m hoping to get to later this evening.
    4. Not too many interruptions. I haven’t minded them.

    – Distraction in the form of social media requires some tough self-discipline. Hoping it will be easier in the wee hours of the AM.

    – How active and friendly everyone is on Twitter! I love it!!

    4)My dogs want to go outside every other second, some challenges took me longer than anticipated, now I am at a band competition for my daughter!
    5) I am surprised by how fast paced it is! These hours are flying by!

    4. Have you had many interruptions? Only those of my own making, but necessary and good. Walking dogs, stretching, making a sandwich.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? That I can actually do things because I have smartphone now thus audio.

    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Hmmm… Sagitta by Ruby Lionsdrake I think. (3rd in a space romance series.)
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? Really just my own interruptions – a nap that I really needed, and doing laundry.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How laid-back I feel about it today. I haven’t done much interneting but I probably will later.

    Not sure! Picking up books at random.

    I had a planned event to attend earlier so I got up earlier to read and finish some books before leaving, then after I gave myself something easier to read to ease myself back into the event.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    Nonfiction reading during this event IS as hard as people say. Also I’m surprised by how much I’ve read so far and how much I’ve enjoyed it. I love reading and read a lot, but only dedicate this much time in a row to reading when I’m on vacation!

    2. I’m only on my second book.
    3. I’m most looking forward to The Girl Who Drank the Moon – I’m thinking it will be a quick, light read.
    4. Work was a huge interruption, as well as errands. I kept an audiobook going but it was not as relaxing as it usually is.
    5. So far, I was most surprised that a local friend is also doing the readathon. Yay introvert readers!

    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I have done a lot of these, its my fifth one so i am not really surprised by much 🙂

  37. 1. I’m going back to White is for Witching right now–I read some earlier then took a break to switch it up.
    2. I have started and finished 3, finished 1 more I had begun before the readathon, and read parts of one more.
    3. I’m most looking forward to the other Ms. Marvel’s I’m saving for later, but I’m also excited to check out The Children’s Home.
    4. I HAVE had many interruptions–It’s my grandfather’s 90th birthday so I had to frost a cake and go to an afternoon party, and I’m also hosting his birthday dinner tonight so I’ll get interrupted again soon. I’m just trying to read as much as possible during the other hours and listen to audiobooks while I cook and prepare, but I have to admit my mind is not as focused as it usually is because I’m not pausing it when something distracting happens!
    5. I’m a little surprised that on hours I’m only reading, I still only read about 45 minutes each hour because of walking to get the next book or checking the website quickly! Those moments really add up.

    4. I have two small kiddos so interruptions are pretty frequent, but I do my best to get back in task after taking care of the need of the moment. They also know that’s Mommy’s trying a readathon and have tried to give me a little bit of space for today. Maybe next year I can talk them into doing it too.
    5. I’m surprised at how much I’ve been able to read in one day. I’m still a fairly slow reader but I should easily surpass my goal of four books for today.

    4. A decent number, but they’ve been unavoidable things, like taking my pups for walks. I use the break in reading to go on Twitter and Litsy to check in with everyone.

    I’ve had a few, either husband or dog related. I’ve tried to listen to my audiobook whenever I’m on the move!

    Last April was my first year participating, and I didn’t discover the challenges until pretty late in the day. I also didn’t track page numbers per hour, so it just felt like a normal reading day for me that lasted extra long. This year I’ve really embraced the challenges and the tracking, which is really fun! I try not to get to hung up on how little I’m ACTUALLY reading, because I read all the time independently; for me, it’s about the community today!

    We have two kids, so yes to interruptions but I have an amazing husband so we tag teamed it all day. “I’m at a good point, can you grab them lunch!” “Yep, but I’m reaching a good point, so I better be quick!” Hahaha

    How absolutely incredible our little community continues to be 💜

  51. 1. I just finished Bellweather Rhapsody. I’m letting my eyes take a little break now by listening to Hex.
    2.ive only finished the one.
    3. I’m really looking forward to some graphic novels in the second half.
    4. My dog is not so considerate of my reading time, by that’s why I’m listening to audio to – so I can still take him for long walks.
    5. So far I’m surprised by how slowly I read!! I never noticed when it was spread out.

    1. What are you reading right now? Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan, and I’m still slowly getting through the audio of the Song of Achilles whenever I want to take a break from reading
    2. How many books have you read so far? 10 books. My favorite was the Furthest Station by Ben Aaronovitch and my least favorite is Gork the Teenage Dragon
    3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I’m going to try to finish the two I’m currently reading by tomorrow
    4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? I slept for 2 hours. I meant to sleep longer but I got really wrapped in my book beofre hand and then woke up excited.
    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How many books I’m getting through. I know I choose short ones, but I am really doing some damage to my TBR list.

    1. Still working on An Enchantment of Ravens
    2. I’m still working on my first read but my goal was to finish my current read by the end.
    3. Haven’t decided what I’m picking up next so not sure yet. It’s between Bones of Faerie, HP & the Chamber of Secrets, or Bountiful.
    4. I haven’t had a lot of interruptions but I’ve had some. I basically had to deal with them unless it could be ignored.
    5. I’m surprised that I’ve stuck with it. Every other time I’ve tried to participate I give because I want to do other stuff but I’ve actually been reading the majority of the day!

    3) I want to get to ‘The Misfortune of Marion Palm’ – I’ve been reading heavy stuff and I need some lighter.
    4) MAJOR interruptions. I have a nine year-old, a partner that went and did his own stuff today, and a limping dog; my son had plans for the carnival but THEN his movie plans were canceled. I thought I’d get that time free by nooooo. I’m getting impatient honestly. And hungry.
    5) I wish I could hole myself up in a hotel room to do it, honestly, because no one understands they just need to leave me alone!! And to feed me.

  69. Hahaha! So true about being able to stay up years ago. When I first started this readathon, I stayed up all 24 hours and read for 21 of them. I raised money for my best friend’s daughter and that helped too. Now my eyes just can’t take it. I HAVE to sleep some 🙂

    the fur kids constantly interrupt me. I have two deaf foster boys that hate each other and are constantly breaking out into fights so a few times I had to get up and break up a cat fight. Another of my fosters, Kirby, has anxiety and fear of abandonment after his former owners took him to a cat boarding facility with his buddy and never came back for him. Then his buddy got adopted quickly. So poor Kirby is always worried about being forgotten so he frequently interrupts me for reassuring snuggles. Of course I happily oblige him. I just switch to an audio book during these times.

    5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
    that I’ve finished so many books already!
