    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I can’t live long only on snacks, so I prepared fish with potatoes beforehand. I’ll just have to re-heat it when I will start feeling hungry. But I am more looking forward for some chocolate candies. And I’ll drink lots of tea.

This is my first read-a-thon. I don’t have stacks of books and I am pretty sure that I will be interrupted numerous times (also, I am a big sleeper). I just hope to read as much as I can. Even one finished book will be good enough for me. Also, I will try to start on some reviews of my previous reads.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
This time, I’d like to focus more on my reading and spend less time on social media.

    Rebekka: “Probably The Chemist.”
Mixi: “Don’t really know… I probably won’t be able to concentrate all that much on reading.
Maria: “Rosemary and Rue… although I have a TON of books I really, really, really want to read 🙂

    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
    Rebekka: The flødeboller Mixi brought.

    Mixi: Yes, me too.
Maria: The strawberries with chocolate I brought.

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
As always we’re turning the readathon into a family event. This will be our fourth or fifth time reading together. Mum and my sisters had read my updates for years and thought it sounded like lots of fun, and after I moved they were finally able to join us! Mixi’s pregnant and due any day, so we didn’t quite know whether she’d be able to join us. She really hoped that she could, but now that she’s here, she’d actually rather just have given birth already! 😛

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
Maria: Everything will be different! First time ever we’re not at my place.
    Mixi: Go into labour!
    Rebekka and Mum: Yes!

  20. I was supposed to have my homebase on my blog, but it’s not done with the new design and layout. So disappointed. Instead I’m moving my reading to Twitter and Instagram. I can be found under @eeyorenyk at both platforms.

    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I didn’t really prep snacks…I live in a household with 4 children (2 teenage boys) so snacks are always on hand.
    4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I was a SAHM for 17 years but recently returned to work part time, as a transaction coordinator for a real estate team, and am one step away from getting my license (not to sell but to be a licensed coordinator). I love my job! I am an avid reader, but with juggling the new job, my kids’ schedules (one is graduating this year, so throw in some new college activities too), managing this crazy household, and taking care of my ailing father I have only read 2 books so far this year. 🙁 By now I would normally have completed at least 12-15. I am really looking forward to reading all day today. Frankly, I deserve the break!

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? This is my 3rd readathon. One thing I am doing differently…I didn’t have time to prep a TBR. So I am concentrating on finishing the book I am reading and jumping into The Gargoyle for my book club. I don’t think I will finish that entire book in 24 hours, but if I do, I will snag the first book I see on my abundantly full shelf and jump into that. I know it’s not that smart – the TBR is so one doesn’t waste time searching for the next read…but I am not too nervous about it since I have three books I have not shelved yet that I really want to read. One of those will be just fine, if I need to grab another book.

    5. This Readathon I am going to do some reading outside. I didn’t in October because the weather was nasty, but I think if I sit out on the deck when I start to get a little sleepy the fresh air might help.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my third time participation and I think the one thing that I will do differently is not feel guilty for sleeping or taking a break when I need to.

I am so excited to be participating again this year!

  36. 1) I’m reading from podunk just outside of Houston, Texas.
    2) I’m looking forward to reading California, by Dean Lepucki.
    3) Weirdly, I didn’t really buy snacks this year. I cooked extra dinner last night so we could have easy leftovers today, but it’s not very exciting.
    4) Haha, I have not been keeping track of how many times I’ve done readathon! This is at least my fourth, possibly my fifth! I feel waaaay old this morning. I used some fancy eye patch things that came in a Boxycharm in hopes of wrangling the bags under my eyes!
    5) I don’t really have a plan for today, maybe that’s what’s different. Start at start time, read as much as I can as long as I can. Try not to OD on caffeine too early.

  37. 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
    Denmark
    2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

    5) Second timer and here’s to hoping I’ll actually stay awake long enough to read at least half of the read-a-thon time.

  39. I posted mine to my dreamwidth blog…which it won’t let me link to, for fear of being spam. :/ Hopefully my name will link.

  40. 1) Southern Maryland!
    2) I’m currently reading House of Leaves and thoroughly enjoying it! Endings are really important to me, though, so I hope it can keep this up and doesn’t fall flat.
    3) In addition to the readathon, I’ll be attending the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival for the first time since moving here last year. Really looking forward to the food (and drink!) that’ll be at the festival!
    4) I have a love hate relationship with reading assignments. I loved reading when I was younger, but when I got older and had to read all the required stuff, I just didn’t. I didn’t like having people tell me why and how a book was good or wasn’t. Fast forward to no longer being in school and I love reading all over again!
    5) The last time I participated was a year ago. I picked way to many books and tried to do this with a friend in the house. We kept distracting each other and eating snacks instead. It was fun, but not a very productive day!

  41. Hello everyone and good morning! I am reading from St. Louis, MO on a very rainy and dreary day, making waking up highly difficult at the moment, so I am excited for the excuse to stay wrapped up in a blanket.
I am really looking forward to Nimona, I’ve been wanting to read it for ages and I finally got around to borrowing it from the library.
I had no time earlier in the week to get snacks, so I have an audiobook prepped for my walk to the grocery store and it will be a surprise based on my mood!
Here in St Louis, I am a bit of a jack of all trades, I work in an oncology research lab, an auction house, and a nearby bar’s free beer school classes. The lab is my full-time job, but the running joke is that I sow up places and get offered jobs, hence my other endeavors.
This is my first ever readathon! I’ve been doing the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge, but most of my books left on there are longer, so I am excited to tackle some of the shorter books from my TBR pile that I’ve been hoarding away on either my bookshelf or my kindle.

  42. Copying from Dreamwidth since my post apparently didn’t go through. Sorry if you see it twice!

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

This time I’m not worrying about a ‘to read’ list and will just be reading whatever catches my fancy. I’m not going to try to zoom through, either, but really just enjoy the process of reading ALL DAY.
