    4) Tonight was the Pride parade in Vegas & I went out to celebrate till 4am (the RAT starts at 5am here)! Which means I might take more naps than expected!

    5) Reading to my son! We’re taking the day off school for this, but I want him to participate a little too, so I plan on reading a couple of books to him, or a chapter from one of the Star Wars novels I plan to read. Of course, the uninterrupted reading time is an added bonus!

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I’m participating today at the request of my daughter who is also celebrating her 22nd birthday today.
    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? This time I will take a long dinner break, but moatly because it is a birthday dinner for my daughter. I won’t be so caught up in trying to read ever second of the 24-hours. Part of what I enjoyed was communicating with other participants. If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

    5. First readathon and I have family obligations later so I know I can’t do the whole 24 hours but I started early today because I couldn’t sleep (it’s like Christmas, I’m so excited!)

    4) My husband got me into reading when we were dating & got me to start reading fantasy which is now my fav genre. I’m in a book club too though, we read a different genre each month, which makes you read things I wouldn’t normally choose, which is great.

    Fellside by M.R. Carey. I had no idea he had written another book and I just can’t wait to get into it!

    I have a bit of an obsession with thrillers and rich people problems books, but I’ll read almost anything.
    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
    This is my third readathon, and I think I’ll try to be more active in moving reading spots. The last two times I’ve been pretty stationary and it can make it hard to maintain energy. Also I schedule a shower into my day later on so I can wake up!

    3) A jar of Biscoff cookie spread. (Imagine peanut butter but instead of having any nutritional value it is made out of cookies.) Delicious but dangerous. I only let myself buy it on special occasions.
    4) I have 2 literary themed tattoos. One is a quote from Cosmos by Carl Sagan and the other is an image of Bilbo’s green door from The Hobbit.
    5) I didn’t really participate in April but I did last October. This time I planned a little more ahead of time and made sure that I have all the food and caffeine I (should) need so I don’t have to keep making grocery runs when I think of sonething.

    My first Dewey’s, although I’ve done other readathons.

    2) I have two books in my stack and I’m pretty excited for both of them. One is When the Heavens Fall by Marc Turner, a grimdark/high fantasy novel and the second is Sensing Light by Marc A. Jacobson, a historical fiction novel.
    3) Skittles is my current favourite snack. Skittles, skittles, skittles!!
    4) My name is Lisa, I’m 23 and I’m a Neuropsychology Master student by day and book blogger/reviewer by night.
    5) This is my first 24-hour-readathon and there are two things I’m most excited about. I want to get more involved in our reading community on the social media and I’m also looking forward to being more productive with my reading schedule for the next 24 hours!

    The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (it’s a re-read for me, but I’m still super excited!!)

    So, I’m from the Netherlands (already told that, but I love to repeat myself), I’m obsessed with American Horror Story and my favorite books are Harry Potter (I know very original) and fantasy.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
    This is my third read-a-thon! I think I will sleep more this time, last time I only slept for 3 hours and I definitely felt that the day after. I also really want to participate more in mini-challanges and discussions.

    3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Suffering from hyperemesis because of my pregnancy, I don’t feel like snacking a lot. I do have mango, grapes and carrots though..

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I am a slow reader and only have 4 books in my TBR pile for this readathon. I don’t even think that I’ll be able to get through all 4, but I’m hoping for a miracle.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? This is my second readathon. Last time I went to a party in the middel of the readathon, missing a lot of readingtime. This time, no party, but a lot of sleep which my pregnancy do let me go without.

    2) I planned only 2 books for now but I’m looking forward to Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Starting off with this book. Have wanted to read it since 4 or 5 years now.

    3) There’s a malai kulfi, a frozen milk dessert, sitting in my freezer, since last Sunday I think.

    4) I’m 27 years old. I live in a very overcrowded city and have trouble managing my time. I love to read, watch movies/TV and travel whenever I get a chance.

    5) This is my second readathon this year. I managed to finish one book and start another last time. This readathon I plan to read for an hour at least before taking a break. Have to head out for a short event in 2 and ½ hours, so plan on reading straight till then. Hope I can finish 2 books at least this time.

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I am 35, a mother of 2. I enjoy gaming and reading and making memories with my kids. I have an awesome husband who gives me all the time in the world to read, especially when I tell him, “Just one more chapter”.

    5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Not expect to get through my while TBR pile. I think during the last readathon I expected too much and it kind of put me in a reading slump for a few hours. This time I am just going to let it flow and what I get done, I get done.

    I’ve participated several times in the past. I’m “scheduling” naps for when I feel tired. Allowing myself 20-30 minutes to recharge throughout the day.

    4. Last night while I was finishing last minute preparations my hot water tank broke, started flooding the utility closet, and set off the building’s fire alarm. After the fire department gave an all clear, and maintenance came to drain the tank, I miraculously managed to calm down and finish my preparations. Nothing was going to stop me from participating, even lack of hot water!
    5. I really need to moderate the amount of time I am on social media, or I won’t get much reading done. Unlike previous years I plan to read for 60 minutes, then spend only 10 minutes online. We shall see how long this works.

    I’m a 55 year old woman and avid day hiker and can’t believe i’m taking a whole day off from hiking for a day of reading. On the other hand I also love to read. I will probably sneak off at some point in the day for some walk breaks rather than snack breaks.

    It is my first read-a-thon. I’m looking forward to just reading. I have never spent a day just reading all day long and it sounds lovely.

    Looking forward to (hopefully) finishing House of Leaves. What a strange, but completely amazing book!
    For the first time, I didn’t buy any special snacks! But I have snack cheese, pretzels, ranch flavored Bugles, a little chocolate, tea, cold water, hot chocolate and spiced cider in the house.
    I love books, music, movies, and Halloween!
    This is my 5th readathon. I’m just going to keep it loose. Check in on the hour, read a lot, maybe do a few challenges, but not set a “schedule”.

    I don’t have a stack made up right now, but I’m excited to finish The Crown of Embers.

I read a chapter of The Woman in White (I’m up to the Vincent Gilmore part now, yay!) and started Pavane by Keith Roberts, an alternate history novel. I’ll probably finish it today.

    4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I graduated with my BA in June. I’m a GoodReads member, I mostly read sf/f and classics. The last book I finished was Peter Watts’s Blindsight, which scared me half to death. Good book though.
