Hour 20: You’re nearly done now!

It’s now Hour 20 and thus my last hour as cohost. 🙁 This is just as sad as it was last year! And I know y’all much be devastated, too. So how about something to cheer us up, eh?

I’ve seriously been listening to this song for three days now. It’s pretty much burned into my brain/soul/heart/etc. Woohoo!

Only four hours to go (not including this one, obviously)! Keep on doing what you’re doing! I’m going to read for a bit and then pass out, I think. This is the latest I’ve stayed up since May! Is the sky supposed to be that color?

Jehara is hosting the Yoga mini-challenge now. Yoga! I’ve never done it. It sounds fun, though.

Five– that’s right, five– random readathon readers have won prizes! They are:

Congratulations! Pick your prize and send your choice and shipping information to deweyreadathon @ gmail . com.

Pet Love mini-challenge

Hands Up!

It’s that time of the readathon that things start to lag a bit, both for readers and cheerleaders. All y’all who are still reading and would love a cheerleader to prop you up a bit– leave a link in the Mr Linky below.

Hour 19: But seriously, don’t overdose on caffeine

It is now midnight my time, which means it’s Hour 19! Normally I’d be going to bed right about now, but I’ve done the unthinkable and had a late afternoon cup of coffee. Woah now! I haven’t had more than one cup of coffee per day for over a year, so this is exciting. I mean, I’m still pretty tired. But I’m more awake than I’d usually be!

In celebration of my amazing accomplishment, have a song about coffee from Sarah Vaughn. It’s not as fast-paced as the other songs I’ve posted, but I think it fits this time of night (or day, depending on where you are) pretty well:

Colette is hosting the Pet Love mini-challenge now. I really love cats, y’all, but I don’t have one of my own yet. This makes me sad. 🙁

Three of you lucky people who are still reading have won a prize! Aren’t you glad you stayed up? The three winners are:

Congrats! Pick your prize and send your choice and shipping information to deweyreadathon @ gmail . com.

And we have a winner for the Hour 16 mini-challenge, the Rereading mini-challenge! It’s Kimberly of The Bookie. She won a $15 gift certificate to Amazon.com. Congrats!

Hour 18: Don’t start counting sheep now

It’s me again! It’s now Hour 18 and that means there’s only six hours left of the readathon (I think, anyway)! That is both a tiny and a HUGE amount of time. It’s plenty of time for reading more books, but only a tiny amount of time (relatively) until you can pass out and sleep for 12 hours.

But for now, y’all need to WAKE UP!

I have brought more motivation for you to stay awake. This time it’s even book-related! It is, in fact, Paperback Writer by The Beatles:

Don’t forget: if you’re having trouble with something, or just want to chat, I’m on duty at the email account, Twitter, and Facebook! Keep going, everyone! You’re doing awesome.

The mini-challenge for Hour 18 is for those raising money for charity during the readathon. The Mr Linky will be open until the start of Hour 21.

What charity are you raising money for?

A winner will be selected after the readathon is over! Post your links now!

Four of our lovely cheerleaders have won a prize each! They are:

Congrats! Pick your prize and send your choice and mailing info to deweyreadathon @ gmail . com.

Song Identity mini-challenge

Please do stay awake! And leave me comments! Why don’t you tell me what you hate the most about doing the readathon, for instance?

Hour 17: omg you guys, it’s me!

Hiya! I’m Anastasia of Birdbrain(ed) Book Blog (and @birdbrainbb, if you’re on Twitter), and I’ll be your host for hours 17 through 20. I like chocolate and coffee and cats, and though I live in New Mexico at the moment I’ll be moving to California soon. Huzzah!

You may remember me from the Spring 2011 readathon, where I wooed you with Blast Hardcheese and OK Go. This time around I’ve got many shiny things to lure you into my clutches staying awake longer.

Right about now you’re probably wishing you hadn’t had that fifth can of Red Bull and that you’d never started this stupid readathon thing. OR you’re wide awake and perky and have got your second wind back! Either way, I find that cheerful music makes me more awake than not, so here’s something for everyone who is reading this now:

Wasn’t that fun? And now, mini-challenges and things!

India’s hosting the Song Identity mini-challenge, which sounds AMAZINGLY FUN. So go check that out.

I have four winners plucked from the Mid-Event Survey participants pool! Exciting, right? Here they are:

Congrats! Pick your prize and email your choice and shipping information to deweyreadathon @ gmail . com.

Hour 15: Starfish Invasion

Who’s still with me??  I’m back for a couple of hours to tell you guys how much you rock… and to see if you’ve been ROCKIN’ THIS ‘THON, YO!

How are you coming on the goals you set during the Intro Meme?   Me?  I’m at 10 blogs commented on.  Gotta get that in gear.  And nowhere on my book, but hopefully that’ll change in the next couple of hours. Cross your fingers for me.

So, we’ve seen a lot of fun videos today.  Mine seem to be all dance-centric so I’m gonna keep with that theme and take a suggestion from Cheer Queen Trish…  The Starfish Dance.

Bonus points for you if you vlog it (and if you do, leave a comment with the link, pleeeeeeeeaze). But even if you don’t vlog it, get up and do it.

Hour 14: Also Known as “Pizza Time” In Some Parts of the World

You’ve made it to hour 14! Check you out! I think we all know what you need right about now, and I’m going to provide it for you: Dolly Parton in full bedazzled glory, being pushed around on desks by various Disney characters:

I certainly feel refreshed after that, don’t you?

This is my last post of co-hosting; thank you for hanging out  and watching Scissor Sisters and Queen and Dolly Parton videos with me. I hope you sang along and danced the starfish dance while watching the clips. I knew I loved the book blogosphere for a reason. (Don’t worry, Shesten will be back to entertain you, so you won’t be alone.)

Up This Hour, We Have:

A BRAND NEW Mini-Challenge

Kimberly over at Fancy Terrible is hosting a challenge she’s calling Feed Me, Seymour. I’m into anything related to musicals, so I know I’ll be checking it out. (Note: This may or may not have anything to do with musicals, so ignore what I said if you don’t like musicals and check out the mini-challenge anyway.) The prize, open to US and Canadian participants, is a lovely hand knitted bookmark.
