Hour 18 – Audio to the Rescue!

fyi

Hey hey! Andi from Estella’s Revenge back again. I tell ya, the last few readathons audiobooks have really saved my life. It seems like I can never really focus on Readathon day whether there are administrative things to do or family events to attend.  In April, my audiobook of choice was Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, and now it’s Yesternight by Cat Winters.

Are you an audiobook listener? Did you listen to one this time around? What would you recommend to an audio newbie?

Hour 18 – And the fun continues!

Dana back for hour 18! How are you holding up? The thing I love the most about this read a thon and is that it’s totally come as you are…if you can’t stay up the whole time or you want to take a cat nap or you want to read straight through…we’re all here just enjoying a day dedicated to reading.

Around this time my eyes sometimes start getting more tired and that’s when I start listening to an audio book to give my eyes a break. Do you listen to books on audio? Let me know in the comments below.

I’ve enjoyed hanging out with everyone and I hope you enjoy the rest of the read a thon!

A cute bookish meme to close my time out…

Hour 18 – Just keep reading…reading…reading…

Dana back with you for my last hour. Our 18th hour, to be exact! Wowsers!

One of my favorite things about this readathon is finding new to me blogs. Every single time I found several. What about you all? What is your favorite thing about the readathon? Take a quick break from that awesome book and share in the comments section below.

Have so enjoyed spending these hours with everyone. Enjoy the rest of your reading!

Hour 18 – The Caffeine Hours!

Welcome to Hour 18! I’m so proud of you for making it this far already! I’m Andi from Estella’s Revenge, and one of your Dewey’s organizers.

While I used to be a night owl in my younger days, as I’ve gotten older, had a kiddo, and since I have four dogs who want a midnight hug from time to time, I am far LESS of a night owl. Add in some wicked insomnia, and I cherish my sleep. CHERISH!

Somehow, despite all that, I always seem to take this next-to-last hosting shift because I LOVE the energy that’s still going strong both here and on Twitter at this hour!

We have several hours to go yet, but what are your secrets for lasting into these later hours? Tell me down in the comments! I might be hopped up on caffeine!

Hour 18 is Made for Short Attention Spans!

Andi here with a graphic novel in hand! I mean, what else are my eyes supposed to accept this early in the morning (late at night?)? Graphic novels are go-to reading for a lot of Read-a-Thon participants, and I’m no different. I’ve actually branched out this year and added several well-received Manga series to my Read-a-Thon stacks, alongside some more traditional graphic novels. While I’m not reading it tonight, Boxers and Saints, by Gene Luen Yang, is one of my favorite new graphic novels! It’s a two-book set about a young boy and girl during the Boxer Rebellion. I loved this book for its beautiful artwork, historical background, and the way it touched my heart!

What graphic novels do you have on your stacks? If you’re not reading graphic novels, are you indulging in shorter works to keep you going like children’s books, middle-grade fiction, or novellas? Tell us about the quick reading on your stacks!
